Shane Lowry shot a remarkable 28 birdies, setting a new course record on Friday as he blitzed the field on his way to winning the Amgen Irish Open 2026.
He did so as US President Donald Trump watched on, with the US President having wished the Offaly man best of luck with a handshake earlier that day.
He is off to Adare Manor later tonight for Ryder Cup practice on Monday.
He travels to London on Monday night. “Yeah, no rest for the wicked,” he told RTÉ.
He also said getting a handshake from US President Donald Trump before teeing off for the final round was “a bit mad”.
Sportsfile captured some brilliant shots of the final day of the tournament as the Offaly man blew away the rest of the field.
