Bosnia key preparation for Euros - O’Shea

Waiting for Video...

Republic of Ireland defender John O’Shea is in doubt for the upcoming friendly against Bosnia after receiving a knock to the knee during training.

The Waterford native will join Shay Given, Keith Fahey and Kevin Foley on the sidelines in Gannon Park for training. Meanwhile central defender Richard Dunne has made a full recovery in time for the championship.

The Sunderland player sees Bosnia’s visit to the Aviva as key preparation for the boys in green’s opener with Croatia because of their similar styles of play. The friendly will be a testing ground for the Trapattoni to determine which formations to use in Poland.

Ahead of Republic of Ireland’s encounter with Spain on June 14 it has been announced that Spanish and Barcelona striker David Villa will not be traveling to Euro 2012 after failing to recover from a broken tibia he sustained last December.
