The Banagher College team that won the Jack McCann Junior Soccer competition at Leah Victoria Park, Tullamore.

Banagher College won this year’s Jack McCann inters schools competition sponsored by Offaly VEC defeating St Brendan’s Birr 1-0 in a very entertaining final.

Both team worked extremely hard in very difficult playing condition and one moment of magic sealed the win for Banagher.

This was always going to be a very entertaining final as both sides had played out a one all draw earlier in the competition. Banagher College qualified for the final by defeating a very talented Ard Scoil Chiarain Naofa, Clara team and St Brendan’s Birr defeated Gallan CC with both games ending level and decided via a penalty shoot out.

The standard of the competition was of a very high standard all teams in the group stages having had chances to qualify for the semi finals but credit must be shown to Banagher College who went the day undefeated and very deserving winners of the competition
