The 2nd Annual ‘Keepers’ International Martial Arts Seminar and Awards Night was held recently at the Berkeley Hotel in Dublin.

International masters (Keepers) from all styles of martial arts descended on the Berkeley Hotel to teach a special martial arts seminar which gave people a chance to train alongside some of the best masters in the field of martial arts.

The seminar welcomed a great line up of International Masters - Tommy Jordan (Ireland) 10th Dan Kenpo Karate, Martin Mac Cabhail (Ireland) 9th Dan AikiBujutsu, Pietro Spadaro (Italy) 8th Dan Kobushi Jujitsu, Peter Coyle (Ireland) 10thDan Kenpo Karate, Daniel Blanchet (France) 10th Dan JuJutsu and Joe Carslake (Ireland) 10th Dan Kyushoshin JuJitsu.

In keeping with previous seminars the keepers  invited other Martial Arts and Martial Artists to teach their styles - believing in the phrase “There is no one best Martial Art, but a best Martial Artist”.

Midland Martial Arts Centre’s Gerard McCarthy was honoured to be asked to teach Tai Chi alongside the ‘Keepers’ at the seminar.

The evening saw a very special Gala Awards Dinner held in the hotel ballroom where martial artists from all different styles of martial arts were honoured for their achievements. Instructors and students of Midland Martial Arts Centre were honoured at the prestigious awards dinner.

Instructor Liam Gorman, 2nd dan black-belt in Shotokan Karate, was honoured for his work in building co-operation in martial arts, Instructor Gerard McCarthy, Tai Chi Chuan, was honoured for his behind the scenes work at the Martial Arts Tsunami event and Tom McEvoy, green belt, Kyushoshin Jujutsu, was honoured for his contribution to the development of the Martial Arts Centre.
