Outstanding achievements honoured at County Offaly Athletic Star Awards

THE outstanding achievements in 2011 of athletes from across Offaly were recognised at the annual County Offaly Atheltic Star Awards held in the Central Hotel in Tullamore on Friday night last.

Large entry at Offaly juvenille doubles

A big entry, lots of play, and some surprise results. That was the order of the day when Division 3, 4, and 5 boys met for the final round of the Offaly Juvenile Doubles in Clonaslee.

Good perfomances in Indoor Championships

The AAI Games and the u/20 National Indoor Championships took place in Nenagh over the weekend and 5 Tullamore Harriers athletes travelled to the Tipperary town. Larry O’Reilly, Stephen Kelly and Ferghus Hannon all took part in the 60 m and the 200 m on the Saturday. Larry, who has been running well in training won his 60 metre heat in 7.39 and followed this up with a new indoor Pb in the 200 metres when clocking 23.56 on his way to winning his heat.
