THE ribbon was cut on the Midlands Martial Arts and Training centre last Saturday to mark the official opening of the purpose built centre.

The official opening was performed by Independent Offaly County Councillor John Leahy with a number of other dignitaries also in attendance.

The centre opened it’s doors last year and provides a purpose built facility for a host of martial arts as well as gymnastics, zumba dancing an more.

It has played host to some of the biggest names on the world stage in martial arts while also hosting a number of major fundraising events.

Last Saturday saw demonstrations from a variety of the classes which take place on a weekly basis on the centre.

If you are interested in taking part in Martial Arts or if you are a Martial Artist or Fitness/Dance Instructor and you are looking for a venue to hold classes, further details about the centre and what is on offer can be obtained via Faceboook at www.facebook.com/midlandsmartialartscentre
