Great turnout for Haiti fundraiser

On Saturday, April 21 The Midlands Martial Arts and Training Centre in conjunction with The Wolftrap Bar, Tullamore, hosted a fundraiser for the Haiti Earthquake victims via the charity HAVEN and one of its direct volunteers Aine Byrne.

The fundraiser consisted of a two hour morning seminar for children followed by an afternoon seminar for adults.

Instructors from all different styles of martial arts gave up their time to come to Tullamore to take part in the fundraiser - instructors that attended were - Jujutsu: Joe Carslake 10th Dan, Bujinkan Taijutsu: Ray Sweeney 10th Dan, American Kenpo: John Ward 7th Dan, Shotokan Karate: Brett Halliday 6th Dan, Escrima: Donal Connaughton 4th Dan, Judo: Masaya Ueno 3rd Dan,Tai Chi: Gerard McCarthy.

The fundraiser raised over €1200 which will go directly to Haiti to help orphanages, children and families who are still living in terrible poverty.
