Six quarter final spots decided in Offaly Senior Hurling Championships

SIX of the eight quarter-final spots have been decided after the penultimate round of games in the Aidan Bracken Building Design Offaly Senior Hurling Championship.

All four spots from Group 2 are filled while two of the four teams are through to the knock-out stages from Group 1.

Shinrone, St Rynagh’s and Birr all recorded wins in Group 2 to book their places in the last eight. Despite losing to Shinrone, Belmont also go through as neither Tullamore or Drumcullen can catch them. Those two sides meet in the final round with the loser destined for the relegation play-off.

In Group 1 Coolderry and Kilcormac/Killoughey are in the quarter-finals while Seir Kieran, Brosna Gaels and Kinnitty will battle it out in the last round for the other two places. Seir Kieran wouold appear to have a slight edge as their last game is against Shamrocks who are already destined for the relegation play-offs.
