SIX players from Ballinamere and three from St Rynagh’s figured prominently on Sunday, August 12 with the Harry Boland’s GAA Club senior hurling side that captured the Chicago Championship title with a hard earned 1-12 to 1-10 final victory over Cúchulainns.

2011 Offaly U-21 Hurler of the Year David Magner was one of the leading lights for the newly crowned champions along with his Ballinamere club mates Michael Murphy, Paddy Murphy, Jamie McKeogh, Simon Hensey and Nicholas Minnock. The three St Rynagh’s players on duty were Tiernan Martin, Stephen Flannery and Danny Maloney.

Harry Boland’s are managed and coached by former Dublin inter-county player Kevin Flynn who is the holder of four Dublin SHC medals.

Harry Boland’s club is based on the south side of Chicago and a fortnight ago Ballinamere’s Michael Murphy was chosen as Chicago ‘Player of the Week’ – a significant achievement.
