Hanniffy’s return to starting line up a timely boost ahead of Wexford clash

RORY Hanniffy has been named in the Offaly starting 15 for this week’s Leinster Senior Hurling Championship quarter-final against Wexford in O’Connor Park.

The Birr clubman had been sidelined with a broken thumb since the game with Limerick in the league in late March. Joe Bergin is also included in the sidedespite an injury concern

This will be the first time Offaly and Wexford have hurled a championship game in Offaly after a home and away agreement was instituted in 2009.

Offaly haven’t beaten Wexford in their last three championship meetings with the Faithful County’s last win coming way back in 2000.

Tickets for the double header are on sale in O’Connor Park this Wednesday night between 7pm and 8pm.
