U-9 Major 1 Division - Sallins Celtic 3 Edenderry Town 7 (James Leddin 4, Rory Egan, Daniel Lowry, Rauiri Glennon)

James Leddin was the star of the show as Edenderry Town’s U9 Major Division One team ran out comfortable winners away to Sallins last Saturday morning. James grabbed four out of the seven goals scored by the visitors in an excellent team performance by the Edenderry lads.

Goals from Rory Egan, Daniel Lowry and James Leddin made it 3-0 for Edenderry at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter saw the Edenderry lads continue to dominate but somehow they couldn’t add to their tally despite numerous good chances.

The fourth goal did eventually come early in the fourth quarter with James Leddin driving in a great shot to make it 4-0. In fairness to the home side, they responded almost straight away with a good goal to make it 4-1 but James Leddin was celebrating his hat trick a minute later with a pile driver from way out that flew into the net. Sallins then had their best spell of the match with two quick goals to leave the scoreline 5-3 to the visitors.

The Edenderry lads weren’t finished tough and from the kick off Ben Lynch ran down the left wing and crossed for James Leddin to volley in at the far post for his fourth of the day. The last goal came from Ruairi Glennon after good play by Cian Lynch to leave the final score 7-3 to Edenderry. Best on the day for Town were James Leddin, Rory Egan and Cian Lynch.
