Japanese Second Secretary visits Tullamore

A representative of the Japanese Embassy visited Offaly during the week and met with representatives of Offaly County Council and Tullamore Chamber of Commerce.

A representative of the Japanese Embassy visited Offaly during the week and met with representatives of Offaly County Council and Tullamore Chamber of Commerce.

Susumu Kiyosawa – Second Secretary, Economics Section, Japanese Embassy visited last Wednesday.

Mr Kiyosawa was interested in getting a feel for the local economy in Offaly and also visiting colleagues working in Freund, Tullamore.

A series of meetings were held with the Chamber of Commerce and representatives of Offaly County Council and the opportunity was utilized to highlight the tremendous economic resources Offaly boasts and the success of existing businesses throughout the county.

Speaking at the visit Chairperson of Tullamore Town Council Cllr Molly Buckley said she was “delighted to welcome Mr Kiyosawa to Tullamore. It is important to forge international links and highlight the economic potential for companies setting up in Offaly.”

Mr Kiyosawa then took the opportunity to visit Offaly Innovation Centre and meet some of the young designers in Design Hub.
