The chiropodist will be in attendance in Geashill Old School tomorrow morning, Thursday, February 2 at 10.30am. Doors open at 10.15am. This service is for the Geashill & Ballinagar Senior Citizens.


Application for Enrolment for Killeigh, Ballinger, Geashill & Cloneygowan National Schools takes place on Monday, February 6. If you wish to apply for enrolment for your child to one of the parish schools or if you know someone who does please remind them that an application form can be collected from the school.


The club will hold their annual progressive 25 Card Drive to raise funds for the Irish Wheelchair Association, Ballinagar on Tuesday, February 7 at 9pm in the Tullamore Court Hotel. Admission is €10.


The first Friday mass will take place on Friday, February 3 in Ballingar with Blessing of Candles and Blessing of throats.

Donal Bolton Tournament: Due to scheduling difficulties it has been decided to postpone the inaugural Donal Bolton Memorial 7 a Side Football Tournament until later in the year when suitable dates are available.

Membership: Members are asked to renew their membership as soon as possible but all membership must be paid by the end of January 2012. Payments can be given to Membership Officers Shane Carroll, Padraig Direen or Craig O’Halloran. New members are very welcome.

Fundraiser: Raheen GAA Club are organising a Fundraising Buster Night at the Dogs in Mullingar Greyhound Stadium on Saturday, February 18. Tickets costing €10 each are now on sale from any Committee Member or other Club Members. There will also be a bus going to Mullingar from both Cloneygowan and Geashill on the evening and returning home shortly after the last race for a nominal charge of €5. Anybody interested in availing of the bus please give your name to club secretary Eddie Kaye (Phone 086 0757679). Please try and support.

Sympathy: Raheen GAA would like to extend deepest sympathy to the family of the Late Maura Rigney, Ballycumber following their recent bereavement. RIP.


Trainers: Following a general club meeting last week some of the trainers and selectors for each of the Na Fianna Football teams for the forthcoming 12 months were decided as follows: Minor: PJ Corcoran, Liam Dunne & JJ Malone; U-16: Liam Boland, Tommy Hyland, Ciaran Cummins & Camillus Kelly; U-14: Tom Keogh, Camillus Kelly & Enda Daly; U-12: John Malone, Pauric Pierce & Alan Finneran; U-10: Ger Plunkett, Ken Beatty & Paul Gorman; U-8: Paurig Gallagher & Tom Gorry. U-6: Damien Grehan & John Rattigan

Membership: Membership for club players has been fixed for the coming year at €15 for the first child and €10 for the second and subsequent child from each family. Membership can be paid to the relevant team managers when training re-commences.

U-14 Training: Na Fianna U-14 Football Training starts up for this year on this Wednesday at 6:30pm in Geashill . Training will continue thereafter every Wednesday evening. All players and intending players are asked to attend training.
