Scoil Mhuire held another successful Seachtain na Gaeilge this week. This annual event has well and truly established itself as one of the highlights of the school calendar.
Staff and pupils embraced a wide range of activities with their usual energy and enthusiasm. With an emphasis on speaking Irish and having fun while doing it the programme for the week included; céili dancing, a table quiz, art competitions, a concert, cake sale and a fashion show. All of the above activities were co-ordinated by Ms Mahon and Ms Fahy.
As soon as you walk in to the school the festival spirit is evident with the wide range of St. Patrick’s Day art on display. A beautiful range of pictures, badges cards and shamrock’s are to be seen all around the school. All of this was for the annual St Patrick’s Day art competition and a winner was chosen from each class for the best effort.
On Monday we all enjoyed “Trath na gCeist” A very close contest indeed and great fun was had by all. The winning team was; Muireann Griffin, Ellen Mongon, Omima and Sacha.
