CLONEYGOWAN’S Senior Citizens enjoyed their second CYMS orgainsed Christmas Party of 2011 last Sunday when they travelled to the Killeshin Hotel in Portlaoise.
The 2010 party had to be postponed last December and was only held in late January 2011 when the winter weather eased.
Thankfully there was no such repeat this time as 80 guests made their way to Portlaoise for the party which ran from 2pm to 7pm.
Chairman Seamus Crombie welcomed everyone to the party and they sat down to a wonderful meal which was a credit to the staff of the hotel.
Music was supplied by Ruben James and a memorable and very enjoyable day was had by all.
The organisers would like to thanks bus driver Tom Flynn for providing the transportation Lynne McHugh for the cake which was cut by Jack Hyland and Hannah Murphy Comerford.
They would also like to thank all their sponsors, all those who attend the Gooseberry Fair each year and the Brennan family for supplying the field as it provides the funding for the Christmas Party and Jim Davis and all involved in the vintage and everyone who helped in any way in helping make the day such a success.
