High grades for Portarlington’s Junior cert students

THE second Wednesday in September is traditionally the Junior Certificate exam results day and as usual there were scenes(not to mention more than a few squeals) of great excitement at Colaiste Iosagain in Portarlington.

It was generally agreed by staff and students that the overall performance was exceptional. Inevitably there were the ‘stars’ with many A’s to their credit but equally there were instances where students who were less optimistic about their prospects earned D’s and even C’s.

Amongst the best this year were Lorraine McEvoy and Laura Pearson with eight A’s and three B’s each (in the exact same subjects) and James Watson with five A’s and six B’s while Craig Keenan scored six A’s , four B’s and a C. The school extended congratulations to all.
