THERE was a Tea Party with a difference in Kinnitty Castle last weekend.

The purpose of the event was to acknowledge the people of the parish who have reached or surpassed their ninetieth year.

Fr Michael O’Meara, on behalf of the parish presented the following with a plaque to mark the occasion. Paddy Lowry, Jimmy Corrigan, Jos Donnelly and Mary Dunne (Kinnitty Village). There were also plaques for the following who could not make it on the night. Madeline and Vera Dempsey, Peter Tooher, Mary Clarke, and Mary Dunne (Droughtville). A great night was had by all and hopefully this will become an annual event.
