Strictly Come Dancing fundraiser

Rhode GAA are delighted to announce "Strictly Come Dancing" a Field development Fundraiser to include installation of fence, ball stops, stand and walking path. It will take place on the May bank holiday weekend Sunday 1st in the Tullamore Court Hotel. A Night Not to Be Missed

Allianz Division 3 National Football League

Very best of Luck to Offaly Senior Footballers who play Longford next Sunday the 31st of January in the first round of the national league in O'Connor Park Tullamore at 2pm. Rhode are represented with eight players on the panel. Ken Garry, Niall Darby, Conor McNamee, Brian Darby , Anton Sullivan, Niall McNamee, Ruairi McNamee and Eoin Rigney.

Offaly U-21s

Congratulations to Offaly U,21s who have reached the Hastings Cup final when they defeated Westmeath in O'Connor park Tullamore Sunday afternoon last on a score line of 2-7 to 0-12. Offaly will play Cavan in the final next weekend time and venue to be decided.

Rhodes Representative on the team is Ruairi McNamee who scored the second goal at corner forward.

Offaly Hurlers

Hard Luck to Offaly hurlers who were l beaten by Wexford in the Walsh cup semi final which was in New Ross on Sunday last . Offaly 0-6 Wexford 0-14


There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 11th of January for a Jackpot of €15,000. The numbers drawn were 11 14 21 30. The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to O’Toole’s for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation. The following matched three numbers and received €70 each. Michael Hickey, David Spollen, Sean Kennedy. Monthly Lucky Dip draw next week €500

The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online though our website. The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example pay for seven draws receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on. In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!!


Membership is now due and can be paid to any of our Membership officers listed Patricia McManus, Orla Kilmurray, Mary Hannon, Ger Hynes, Fionnuala Hickey, Seamus Maguire, Jody Kilmurray, James Murphy, John Glennon, Tracey Murphy , Robert Kellaghan right up to the 31st of March 2016.

The membership rates are as follows:

Player (including insurance) - €50

Family (2 adults and all children) - €50

Single Adult - €25

Student Player - €20

Juvenile - €20

Get well

Get well wishes are extended to all of the people of the parish who are ill or hospitalised at the moment especially to Former Club secretary Greg Ennis.


Deepest Sympathy to the Murphy Family Rathcobican on the death of Johnny whose funeral took place in St.Peters church Rhode on Saturday morning last followed by burial to adjoining cemetery. We also extend our deepest sympathy to the Kelly Family of Mucklagh on the Death of Pat Joe who died Saturday gone. The deceased is the father of former Offaly goalkeeper and Shamrocks player Pauric Kelly. May Johnny and Pat Joe Rest in Peace.
