Offaly 2-9

Kilkenny 1-9

Offaly, whose only win in the League this year came against Dublin on the final weekend, were good value for a one point lead at the interval.

Kilkenny held a four point lead at 1-9 to 0-8 into last 10 minutes but with the clock running down Offaly rallied. Birr’s Arlene Watkins smashed the sliothar into the top corner with 5 minutes left and a minute later Jean Brady staked her claim for a starting place by finding the net for the Faithful’s second goal.

Kilkenny’s search for a late second goal proved fruitless and Michaela Morkan had the final word, putting over a 45m puck to seal a 2-9 to 1-9 victory.
