Offaly Macra Club compete in All-Ireland Bowling Final

The national finals of Macra’s NDC bowling competition took place last weekend with the team from Ardcath Macra, Meath winning the title. Shinrone Macra from Offaly were finalists in the competition.

The national finals of Macra’s NDC bowling competition took place last weekend with the team from Ardcath Macra, Meath winning the title. Shinrone Macra from Offaly were finalists in the competition.

Eighteen teams from across the country took part in the national final of the competition, which was held in Cosmic Bowling in Tullamore recently

Macra and the National Dairy Council run five sporting competitions, bowling, basketball, indoor soccer, 7-a-side Gaelic football and volleyball.

Macra na Feirme National President, Alan Jagoe commented, “Congratulations to all the teams that took part. Bowling is a fun and inclusive sport that provides a good social outlet to members.

“There is a variety of sports for members to take part in, varying in physical activity. You don’t have to be an athlete to take part in bowling but there are many advantages, for example, it helps in burning calories and works muscle groups not usually exercised.”
