There were celebrations all round in Ballymore, Co. Westmeath recently when two Offaly acts captured Leinster Titles in Scór na nÓg.
The Ferbane Ballad group and the Na Fianna instrumental music group overcome very tough opposition and successfully came through to earn their places in the All Ireland Final in Castlebar on February 18.
Reaching an All Ireland final is no mean achievement and well done to all concerned with both groups.
A little less fortunate on the day were the Offaly representatives, Luke Maher, Seir Kieran and Niamh Delaney, Ferbane, in the Solo Singing and Recitation categories respectively.
Both gave excellent performances and can’t have been far off joining their county colleagues on the winners’ podium. Best of luck to Na Fianna and Ferbane in the All Ireland.
