OFFALY’S most famous sporting son returned to his native county last Friday to lend his name to the Shane Lowry Golf Tournament for Youth Projects which took place at Tullamore Golf Club.
Eighteen young people from five youth projects will participated in the inaugural event which is designed to afford young people, who might never get the chance to participate in the sport of golf, the opportunity to do so.
On the day there was some great golf played with the young people showing off the skills they had learned in the preceding weeks.
The tournament is an initiative of Offaly Sports Partnership and has the endorsement of Shane Lowry.
