TWO years after he finished third at the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament in Japan, Shane Lowry returned to the Japan Golf Tour last weekend and repeated the result.
The tournament was reduced to 54 holes due to the weather and Shane shot rounds of 69, 69 and 68 to finish on seven under par, five shots adrift of winner Toshinori Muto and just a shot behind runner up Gonzalo Fdez-Castano. He picked up a cheque for the equivalent of e84,000.
It is just the latest in a fine run of results for the Esker Hills clubman which has seen him go from 212th to 137th in the Official World Golf Rankings in just over a month.
In four of his last five tournaments he has finished 16th, 4th, 13th and then 3rd last weekend.
In that time he has also secured his place on the European Tour’s season grand finale in Dubai which begins on December 8.
