A brand new production of Shane Connaughton’s play The Pitch is coming to Tullamore GAA Social Centre on Thursday, January 19 with the performance starting at 8pm.

The play is on a nationwide tour of GAA Clubs in association with The GAA Social Initiative and Calor Gas. The tour follows a successful summer production which featured Shane Connaughton in the leading role. Former County footballer and well known Leitrim actor Seamus O’Rourke will now star in the play which is being produced and directed by Will Govan, the publisher of The Moth magazine.

“I am delighted that Seamus has taken the part. He is a huge character and an extraordinary talent who is not only perfect for the role but has made a massive contribution to the direction of the play. I had certain ideas as to how I wanted the play to look but Seamus has the experience and creativity to bring it to life. It was a major coup to get him on board! We are all very excited about coming to Tullamore.” says Govan.

The production will be touring Ireland extensively during January.
