BALLYFORE'S ranks have been boosted by the signing of 17 players from Edenderry.
The transfers were ratified with the permission ofEdenderry at the January County Board meeting.
It is understood that the players sought the transfers due to playing commitments with soccer and rugby thus making them unavailable to commit fully to Gaelic Football until later in the year.
The players will be very familiar with Ballyfore's new manager however as Edenderry man Tony Kenny has been appointed to the post. His selectors are Fergus Kelly, Maurice Coffey Jnr and Pat McNamee.
However later in the meeting, Ballyfore objected to having their second team placed in the Junior A Championship with their first team in Intermediate.
It was stated that despite the new acquisitions, Ballyfore were still in a difficult position with numbers due to at least 14 players from last year's panels being unavailable.
CCC Chairman Padraig Boland replied that a number of the players moving from Edenderry to Ballyfore had played senior within the last number of years and that is why Ballyfore were placed in the Junior A Championship.
It was ultimately decided to postpone the Junior Football Draws until the matter was decided..
