The Offaly Senior Camogie team secured their place in at least the All Ireland quarter-final with a 1-15 to 0-10 win over Tipperary in Banagher last weekend.

After a comprehensive win over Tipperary in the League at the same venue, Offaly were confident going into the game however the visitors put it right up to them and led by Sarah Fryday they held a 0-6 to 0-4 advantage at half-time having played with the wind.

Offaly however set about reducing the deficit in the second-half and the turning point came midway through the half when minor Rachel Brennan set up Elaine Dermody for the game’s only goal.

Offaly continued to pull away in the closing stages with two long range efforts from dual star Siobhan Flannery helping Offaly to an eight point win.

The victory secures Offaly a place in the All Ireland quarter-finals with one game to go against Cork in Cork on July 20. If Offaly win that encounter, they will be straight into the semi-finals.
