Midlands Martial Arts and Training Centre based in the Tanyard in Tullamore will hold the official opening on Saturday, May 19 from 12pm to 3pm.

The purpose built facility caters for a host of martial arts plus gymnastics, zumba and other activities.

Throughout the first year, the centre has hosted some of the biggest names in martial arts from across Ireland and across the world for seminars.

Only recently the centre welcomed Olympian John Joe Nevin who put members of Rehab Care through their paces. The partnership with Rehab Care has been a real success story for the centre as have been some very high profile fundraisers including a 24 hour martial arts marathon to raise funds for ‘Oran’s wish to walk’ last October. In total over €10,000 has been raised for charity.

More recently there was an event to raise funds which went directly to Haiti to help orphanages, children and families who are still living in terrible poverty

On the day of the launch there will demonstrations of the different styles of Martial Arts on offer in the centre. If you are someone who is interested in taking part in Martial Arts this would be an ideal time for you to come see the variety of styles available.

If you are a Martial Artist or Fitness/Dance Instructor and you are looking for a venue to hold classes, you are very welcome to come along and talk to any of the directors about the centre.
