TO honour the memory of Pat Carroll, Coolderry Central School and its Board of Management, Coolderry Parish and Hurling Club, and former Principal, George Cunningham, have initiated a fund to put in place in the school a library named in his honour; The Pat Carroll Memorial Library.
A special evening is planned for Friday, June 24 to open the library. A special commemorative booklet, will also be produced, which will include a section on Pat’ playing career, Coolderry N.S. and a pictorial and statistical account of Coolderry GAA. On the night George Cunningham will present a will present an illustrated show on Pat’s life and short but significant hurling career.
Past pupils, colleagues and other friends who wish to be associated with the memorial are asked to sponsor a book (minimum donation ten euro) for the project. All donations will be acknowledged in the booklet being produced for the occasion.
The organising committee would welcome any photographs, memorabilia, newspaper cuttings, programmes and associated material which feature Pat for the presentation and similar material in relation to Coolderry GAA club. These will be copied and returned.
The committee would also welcome any help from other clubs/associations in the parish, district, county, or indeed nationwide. Donations or relevant material may be sent to Coolderry School or to any of the undersigned as soon as possible but before June 6.
