Playing with the wind in the first half, Drumcullen never settled into the game and an early goal for the Kilkenny side gave them the initiative and they never let it slip.

In front of a huge crowd in Rath, John Locke's lead by 1-5 to 0-3 at the break.

They continued to dominate in the second-half and ran out deserving winners.

Meanwhile on Saturday, the Offaly Senior Hurlers were beaten by NUIG on a scoreline of 0-22 to 1-10.
