PROFESSIONAL Wrestling comes to Offaly next week when the stars of Irish Whip Wrestling take to the ring in Clara and Portarlington.
The WWE style show will set up in Clara in the Family Resource Centre on March 12 before heading to the East End Hotel in Portarlington on the following day, March 13.
Among the stars on the night will be Clara’s own TJ Meehan. A former World Powerlifting Champion, TJ has quickly made his way up through the wrestling ranks since he started two years ago. He spends considerable time touring around the UK and Ireland and he is looking forward to hopefully putting on a winning performance in front of his home fans.
Irish Whip Wrestling is among the highest quality shows between Ireland and Great Britain. Auditions were held recently for the hugely popular and televised TNA Wrestling where stars such as Matt and Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Damme now ply their trade.
Two of the five Irish Whip Wrestling Stars who attended will have a further trial in America while just three of the 28 UK based wrestlers were called back.
Current WWE star Seamus began his career in Irish Whip Wrestling before making his big move to America.
Also performing in Clara and Portarlington will be current IWW Champion ‘Mandrake’ and also ‘Supemodel’ who, true to his name, appeared recently on Take Me Out.
Both wrestlers have had TNA tryouts while ‘Supermodel’ also had a tryout for the WWE.
It promises to be a hugely entertaining night and in true professional wrestling style, there will be plenty of interaction between the wrestlers and the crowd with plenty of good guys to cheer and baddies to boo.
The show in Clara gets underway at 7pm while the show in Portarlington starts at 6pm.
Tickets are on sale at the door and are priced at €10 for adults, €8 for children or there is the option of a family ticket (two adults & two children) for €35.
