Clara ladies capture Junior title

CLARA were crowned Offaly Ladies Junior Football Champions on Sunday in O’Connor Park after a hard fought 4-8 to 1-6 win over St Vincent’s.

The game was in the balance right up until the final ten minutes when Clara added two goals to round off the win.

Despite the best efforts of a determined St Vincent’s side, Clara deserved their win and on the day were the better footballing side. They made better use of possession when they had it and were always looking for a team-mate in space rather than opting for an aimless long ball. Most importantly, they also had the strength right up the spine of their team that St Vincent’s struggled to match.
