Permission sought for 30 classroom Killane school

THE Department of Education & Skills has lodged a second planning application for the construction of another primary school on a 2.085 hectare site at Killane, Edenderry.

Permission has been sought for the construction of a new two storey primary school with a total floor space of 4,876m2 to consists of 30 classrooms, including a six classroom special needs unit, a general purpose room, libraries, support accommodation and all ancillary works.

The application seeks to contract the provision of 70 onsite car parking spaces, vehicular access roads, set down area, pedestrian access pathways, ball courts, play areas, bin store, bicycle shelters, oil storage tank, onsite foul drainage system, surface water attenuation, signage and landscaping as part of the overall site.

A decision is expected on the application on June 5 next.
