Curley overcomes the mud to take Masters Title

Pauline Curley (Tullamore Harriers AC) cruised to a comfortable victory at the Woodie’s DIY women’s master cross country championships at Lough Key Forest Park in Boyle, Roscommon. Curley finished in a time of 16:57 ahead of Mary Scully (Mullingar Harriers AC) and Collette Tuohy (Mayo AC).

Curley a former Olympian was in control throughout the race and used her marathon strength to pull clear and claim the national title. Scully and Tuohy battled it out for the minor places and in the end Scully proved the stronger and secured the silver medal ahead of Tuohy.

The next likely target for Curley will be the Woodies DIY Inter club cross country championships to be held later this month. These championships will allow Curley test her endurance against the best female distance runners in the country.
