THIRTY-NINE golf clubs from Leinster who qualified for The 2011 Solheim Cup Club Challenge Provincial Final battled it out in Dun Laoghaire Golf Club last week with four teams winning through to play in the Ladies Irish Open PRO-AM in Killeen Castle on August 4.

The ladies of Tullamore and Birr flew the flag for Offaly at the event. The winning teams were Dun Laoghaire, Beech Park, Craddockstown and Roganstown and they earn a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play with a professional at the Ladies Irish Open in August along with receiving season tickets to The 2011 Solheim Cup from September 23-25 in Killeen Castle, County Meath.

Each team consists of three ladies from the one club, one representing handicap class one and one representing handicap class two, with the third member playing off any handicap. The format at the provincial finals saw each team select their best two stableford scores to count on each hole.
