RACING maybe the sport of kings but it can appeal to all ages and next Monday, June 25 at around 6pm. A student evening at Kilbeggan Races should attract a large crowd and create a great atmosphere over the 7 races.

The very popular ‘Rubberbandits’ and some guest DJ’s should have the enclosure throbbing with life and we all like to cheer home a winner in front of a full house. Some warm sunshine for a change should cap a potentially great evening.

With just over a month to Galway races the spies will be out to spot a future winner. Paul & Carmel Fay are sponsoring the Fay Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle of €15,000 and the Mullingar & North Westmeath Vintners Association & Tara Wholesale Bottlers are sponsoring the novice hurdle. The Hurley Handicap Hurdle is again generously sponsored by Pat McCormack and the European Breeder’s Fund are sponsoring a novice chase over 2 1/2 miles. With four sponsored races and plenty of good runners, the possibilities of winners for punters are endless. It should make for some great racing.

Monday evening racing had traditionally been very successful at Kilbeggan and it should be a special occasion. Admission is €20 for 2 adults with children under 18 y/o. The races commence at 6pm and so arrive early to take in the atmosphere.
