Karate Instructors Course held in Tullamore

Tullamore Shotokan Karate Club was honoured to welcome Sensei Dirk Heene 8th Dan Shotokan Ryu Kase Ha one of Europe’s most senior Shotokan instructors recently.

Tullamore Shotokan Karate Club was honoured to welcome Sensei Dirk Heene 8th Dan Shotokan Ryu Kase Ha one of Europe’s most senior Shotokan instructors recently.

Dirk Heene Sensei was one of the closest and most senior students of Taji Kase Sensei, founder of the Shotokan Kase Ha organisation.

Sensei Dirk Heene is athe most senior member of the Shihankai (Council) of the Shotokan Ryu Kase Ha Instructors Academy and Technical Director of the Belgian Karate-do Shotokan Academy.

Sensei Heene complements his 45 years of teaching and training in Shotokan at the highest level with an assured and professional teaching style refined over the course of a long professional career in physical education. He was also captain of the Belgium national Karate team for 10 years.

The course was held in St Marys youth centre and is an annual event since 2005. The event was organised and hosted by the clubs instructors Sensei Colin McDonnell 4th Dan and Sensei Enda Rigney 2nd Dan.

In attendance at the course was Sensei Tim Harte from Cork, the head of the organisation in Ireland along with other high grade instructors for around the country. Tullamore Shotokan Karate club train Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 – 8 (juniors) and 8-9 (seniors)
