Kicking up a storm in Tullamore

Tullamore’s newest Kickboxing club, Phoenix Kickboxing, which is based in The Midlands Martial Arts and Training Centre announced some important upcoming dates this week.

Tullamore’s newest Kickboxing club, Phoenix Kickboxing, which is based in The Midlands Martial Arts and Training Centre announced some important upcoming dates this week.

All students will face their first grading when Senior Kickboxing examiners will join club instructor John Quigley on Saturday 21st of January to hold the clubs first grading seminar.

Phoenix Kickboxing operates three different classes, a Childrens Class on Mondays from 6pm-7pm, a Ladies only class the same evening from 7pm-8.30pm and on Wednesday a mixed class from 8pm-9.30pm. All three groups will be graded on this date.

The second big announcement was that on Friday, April 13, 2012, a new annual tournament will be hosted by Phoenix Kickboxing in Tullamore. The Edward Quigley Memorial Tournament is being set up to remember the tragic death of the brother of Instructor John Quigley years previously.

The tounament will be set up to give new kickboxers an opportunity to cut their teeth in competition, and promises to be an exciting new soprting event in Tullamore.

The announcement was made at the hugely popular Wednesday class last week, and fighters are already registering their weights in advance of the tough training schedule ahead. New members are always welcome to any of the classes which like all other classes in the Midlands Martial Arts and Training Centre are on a pay as you go basis.
