A woman and two children die in Dublin fire

Missiles were thrown at firefighters during the incident

A 27-year-old woman and two young girls, aged 2 and 3, have died in a fire in Clondalkin, Dublin, this morning. Gardaí and fire services attended the scene of the fire at Cluainin Cronan, Clondalkin at approximately 2.30am this morning, Wednesday, March 8. Five people were in the apartment at the time of the fire, two adult females and three children, two girls and one boy.

A 27 year old female and the two little girls, aged 2 and 3, were taken to Tallaght Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. An adult female in her 30s was taken to St James Hospital and a 4-year-old boy was taken to Our Lady’s Hospital in Crumlin, where their condition is described as critical.

Seven residents of nearby apartments have been evacuated. The scene is sealed off and a technical examination of the area will take place later today
