Mairead McGuinness welcomes Canadian Prime Minister to European Parliament

MEP for the Midlands-North West region, Mairead McGuinness, recently welcomed Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau to the European Parliament in Strasbourg. McGuinness is the First Vice-President of the European Parliament and she welcomed the Canadian leader on its behalf.

Trudeau was in Strasbourg on Thursday speaking to the parliament in the wake of Europe's positive vote in favour of the EU-Canada Trade deal or CETA. The agreement is to be provisionally applied across the EU from April.

The trade deal will make it easier to export goods and services between the EU and Canada, benefitting people and businesses in both areas.
