Successful year for Offaly Simon

IT has been a very successful year for Offaly Friends of Simon. At the group's recent AGM Chairperson, Molly Buckley, thanked the public for their consistent support of their Markets and other fundraising activities.

Molly also had a very special word of praise for Eamon Duignan, for all he has done in order to make the markets feasible.

Presently Midland Simon has a caseload of 26 people, ten of which are referrals since January 2010. Regional Settlement Service and Emergency Accommodation services are of vital importance to this region.

Offaly Friends of Simon raised over €25,0000 last year through the hard work of loyal Volunteers, who have given so generously of their time and energy.

The election of Officers for 2010 were Chairperson, Molly Buckley, Vice Chairperson Bernadette O’Mahony, Treasurer, Sr Anne O’Neill, Secretary, Phil Newton, Public Relations, Molly Buckley, Phil Newton, Market Organisers and Contacts, Anne Martin and Rose O’Toole.

Next Simon Market is on Saturday February 27. Inquiries/bookings, 087 1480783.
