Positive meeting on future of Edenderry

MEMBERS of Edenderry Town Council met with representatives of the Edenderry Credit Union Business Group prior to the June meeting of the Council last week. The meeting was “extremely positive” according to Cllr Fergus McDonnell. “Great credit is due to David Minton, Economic Development Officer with Offaly County Council. It is wonderful to see everyone working together effectively for the good of the town.”

Outgoing Cathaoirleach Cllr Jim Murrin added that with everyone coming together there was great potential for the group “to go a long long way in promoting Edenderry.”

Cllr Patricia Brady urged that everyone in the town should feel part of the project to promote the town. The new Cathaoirleach Cllr Mary Breen agreed that it was important to involve as many people as possible.

Cllr John Foley said it had been a very positive meeting and it was great that the Town Council and members of the business community were joining together. “It is down to us to promote the town. As Town Councillors we need to keep selling the town.”

Director of Services Declan Conlon said that the Council was glad to facilitate and assist in any way it could.
