Life changing experience continues for Edenderry’s Adrian

IT was an action packed week for the Operation Transformation leaders with the Army Challenge that saw one of the sergeants storm out and Offaly’s leader, Adrian Brereton smash his weekly weight loss target.
This week’s army challenge, entitled ‘Old School’, was really tough for the leaders and took place indoors in the army training gym.
Adrian admitted it was one of the hardest challenges they have done so far and it wasn’t helped by the fact that his knee was giving him trouble during the mega work out.
And, it was during this challenging work out that Sgt Mick Mulcahy lost his temper and stormed out of the gym threatening not to come back. Seemingly, he got frustrated at the lack of team work going on.
Speaking on the John Murray radio show earlier in the week, Adrian was asked if he had a message for Sgt Mulcahy if he was listening and the Edenderry leader told him to ‘cop yourself on’.
Despite the gruelling experience, Adrian was very positive, saying that the challenging workout paid off when he got on the scales for the weekly weigh in. Beaming, the 41 year old leader said that he smashed his weekly target. “I was to lose 2 lbs but I lost 6 lbs this week,” he enthused.
This week, Adrian was also set a number of personal challenges, which people will see on Wednesday’s show including having to visit his local boxing club for a two hour work out as well as completing a 4km run down the Grand Canal.
Karl Henry, the show’s fitness expert, challenged Adrian to complete a 4km walk down the Grand Canal on his own. “I managed to run 6km. I couldn’t believe it.”
It looks like that Adrian will be definitely prepared for the forthcoming Operation Transformation 5km run in the Phoenix Park on February 18 next.
With only two weeks left in the show, Dr Eva has spoken with Adrian regarding his weight loss programme and it is hoped that the 41 year old will move out the obese category into the normal weight bracket if he continues to follow the operation transformation programme.
“I am delighted this week and I am feeling great at the moment,” the pet shop continued.
The Operation Transformation leaders have even been asked to make a return appearance on the Brendan O’Connor Saturday night show when they are completed their transformation.
Bursting with excitement, the Edenderry leader said “this week is going to very good”. With Adrian registering yet another successful weigh in, audiences will also Adrian throwing out some of his old clothes.
“I had some jackets there that were like blankets with some pairs of trousers that both myself and Anna could have fit into,” he enthused.
Looking at the whole experience so far, Adrian believes it has been “life changing” and believes it has been a “savage” experience and a “great opportunity” for him personally. But, it is this week’s show that he is really looking forward too.
