Let's hear it for the boy

TULLAMORE man, Aidan Deegan (22) has successfully been launched on a second career as a male model and all because his housemates put a picture of him on facebook.

The Mathematical Science student at the University of Limerick was head-hunted by the Compton Modelling agency in Dublin when they saw the facebook photo and since then he has been combining modelling and his studies. Last week he appeared on Ireland AM modelling the latest men’s fashions and recently he was runner-up in the Mister Ireland International competition in Temple Bar.

The former student of Tullamore College is now on stand-by. Should anything happen to the winner, he will have to step in and represent his country in the international final later this year.

Aidan, who is a son of Peter and Mavis Deegan, maintains that his keen sporting background has helped enormously in keeping fit.

“I’ve been doing this for two months now and I’m just building my portfolio. I wouldn’t have considered this as a career, but now that it has happened I’ll give it a shot for a while,” he told the Express.
