Gardai seek witnesses to M6 accident

GARDAI in Kilbeggan are seeking witnesses to a serious accident which happened on the M6 last week.

The incident happened last Friday at approximately 2.30pm when a male, aged in his 30s, was seriously injured when he was struck by a passing lorry travelling eastbound on M6 between Junction 5 (Kilbeggan) and Junction 4 (Tyrrellspass).

The man was taken by ambulance to the Midland Regional Hospital at Tullamore where he is believed to remain in a critical condition.

Forensic collision investigators attended the scene and the M6 was closed to traffic for some time.

It's believed the man was helping another man push a car when the accident occurred. The other man was uninjured.
