Daingean gears up for St Patrick's Day fun

ST Patrick's Day will be a day not to be missed in Daingean when the second annual Vintage Tractor, Car and Bike Run will take place. This year it is being hosted by the newly formed Faile Vintage Club which, formed in December 2009, now has a membership of over 60 vintage enthusiasts.

The plan going forward is to make the Daingean Vintage Tractor Run an annual event with local charities benefitting from the fundraising. This year the vintage run is in aid of Ofalia House, Edenderry and the Dialysis Unit, Tullamore.

Over 150 sponsorship cards have been distributed but anyone can take part on the day for a fee of €20. The run will start at Seery’s Pub Daingean to O’Tooles Pub, Rhode and back to Daingean with refreshments served in both participating pubs.

The evening will conclude in Seery’s Daingean with a St Patrick’s Day hooley with plenty of music, craic and chat.

If anyone is interested in participating in the run, please contact any member of the Faile Vintage Club committee – Chairman Michael Treacy, Vice Chairman James O’Connor, Secretary Noel Scally, Joint PRO’s Mark Wyer and Mick Seery and Joint Treasurers Alo Seery and Noel Martin. Contact numbers are 087 2272581 or 087 2996642 or 087 6222044. All support is greatly appreciated.
