Tribute to popular Tullamore principal

A FUNCTION was held at the Tullamore Court Hotel on Saturday last to celebrate Gerry Walsh’s teaching career and to mark his retirement after 30 years at Scoil Eoin Phoil, Tullamore 24 years of which were held as principal.

A FUNCTION was held at the Tullamore Court Hotel on Saturday last to celebrate Gerry Walsh’s teaching career and to mark his retirement after 30 years at Scoil Eoin Phoil, Tullamore 24 years of which were held as principal.

Gerry’s family, friends and colleagues gathered to acknowledge his contribution to the education and welfare of the children in the community.

On the night past pupils, parents and sporting organizations also joined in the celebrations.

A range of presentations were made on the night to Gerry and his wife Olive to show appreciation of his life long committment to the school and the Tullamore community.

The various speakers on the night paid tribute to Gerry’s professional dedication and his unique and caring approach with parents and students through the years. Entertainment was provided by Manhattan with dancing til late. A great night was had by all.
