Backlog almost cleared at Tullamore Hospital

THE number of patients waiting for a bed at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore has dropped significantly in the last 24 hours according to the latest Trolley Watch figures.

THE number of patients waiting for a bed at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore has dropped significantly in the last 24 hours according to the latest Trolley Watch figures.

The figures released daily by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Association show that just three patients are waiting today (January 4) compared with 18 at the same time yesterday.

While there has been a drop in the figures for Tullamore, they’re has been a considerable increase in Mullingar where 19 patients are awaiting beds.

The Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise has no patients waiting according to the figures.

Nationally 316 patients are waiting on trolleys with the largest number again being at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where 41 patients are awaiting beds.
