The funerals are taking place this week of the four young men from Portarlington who died last Friday evening, August 10, in a horrific road crash.
Three brothers, Darren aged 27, David aged 24 and Ryan Doyle, 17, and their friend Lee Bryan aged 24, died when their Honda Civic crashed head on into a minibus, on the Tullamore to Geashill road at 5,30pm.
The Doyle brothers moved down from Tallaght to Na Cluainte in Portarlington several years ago. Their removal will take place from Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington on Wednesday morning at 10.20am, arriving at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Killinarden, Tallaght for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to Newlands Cross Crematorium. Mourners are asked to make a donation, if desired, to the Alzheimers society.
From a family of eight, they are survived by their parents Angela and John, sister Sonia, and brothers Jason, Greg, Jonathon and Stephen. David is also survived by his two children, Chloe and Jordan, and Darren by his partner Mary and young children Sean and Kayla.
Lee Michael Bryan, from 39 Na Cluainte, father to Sophie aged 6, will be laid to rest a day later in Portarlington.
His removal takes place at 1.30pm from Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington, for a service at St Pauls Church at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.
