EDENDERRY’S Assumption Road has a pothole the size of a swimming pool according to local councillor Jim Murrin.
Speaking at last Wednesday’s meeting of the Town Council Cllr Murrin pointed out that the pothole had been there for some time but that it has not been filled in by the Council.
Cathaoirleach Fergus McDonnell said that the problem had been brought to the attention of the area engineer and he suggested that it might be an idea for the area engineer to attend Town Council meetings to bring the councillors up to date on works. Cllr Finian O’Neill said that even if the area engineer was to attend every second month that would be helpful.
“What is the point of us being here if nothing is being done” asked Cllr Murrin. He added that a survey was due to have been completed on works that needed to be done, but he had not seen such a report yet.
