TWO Tullamore men were arrested last week in relation to the discovery of a dissident republican "bomb factory" in Kildare.
Gardai made the discovery of the factory on a farm at Monasterevin last Wednesday and arrested five men ranging in age from their twenties to their fifties, the same day.
The men were held for two days at Garda Stations at Naas, Newbridge and Tullamore under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act.
One man was charged and the four others, including the two Tullamore men, were released without charge. A file is currently being prepared for the DPP.
Gardai are believed to have discovered mortar tubes and pipe bomb components on the premises.
The operations involved members of local Gardai in Kildare, Gardai from the Special Detective Unit and members of the Emergency Reposnse Unit.
